A member of Fantastic Cat, Anthony D'Amato is an American singer-songwriter whose work carries a blend of folk grit and melodic sophistication, described by Rolling Stone as “folk music raised on New Jersey grit, with a playful, progressive sonic palette.” After more than a decade in New York City, he relocated west for his album At First There Was Nothing, recorded in American Fork, Utah with producer Joshua James. The record reflects a creative expansion—looser, more expansive arrangements paired with lyrical themes of faith, trust, mortality, and resilience—set against a widescreen Americana backdrop shaped by movement, landscape, and time.
