Collection: Anthony D'Amato
A member of Fantastic Cat, Anthony D'Amato is an American singer-songwriter whose work blends folk grit with a playful, progressive sonic palette—described by Rolling Stone as “folk music raised on New Jersey grit.” After more than a decade in New York City, he relocated west to American Fork, Utah to record his album At First There Was Nothing with acclaimed songwriter and producer Joshua James. Marking his first full-length release in six years, the record reflects a clear artistic expansion, with sprawling, unpredictable arrangements and some of his most incisive lyrical work to date. Drawing on influences from hazy ’60s soul to rootsy ’70s rock and roll, the songs move with a looseness and playfulness that sit alongside themes of faith, trust, mortality, loss, resilience, and regret—set against a sweeping Americana backdrop shaped by landscape and change.
